  • Taylor/Frey/Leavitt House

    This 1850 historic home was acquired through a 99 year lease with the town in 2008; placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2004. Open 10AM to 1PM on Saturdays, May through September.

  • Deering School House

    Acquired through donation in 2007. This last untouched one room schoolhouse in Waterboro was moves to the grounds of the Taylor/Frey/Leavitt House. Open 10AM to 1PM on Saturdays, May through September.

  • Grange Hall

    Aquired in April, 2010 through a donation. Placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. Located on West Road in South Waterboro, it is used for business program meetings of the society. It can also be rented for weddings, parties, and other programs.

  • Blacksmith Shop

    Acquired in 2012 through a donation from community members. This 1800’s blacksmith shop was moved from the Carpenter property in North Waterboro to the grounds of the Taylor/Frey/Leavitt house and rebuilt using as much of the original materials as possible. It is now open for business as a working blacksmith shop.

  • Johnson Lumber Mill

    Acquired through donation in 1976; placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007. Located on Route 5 in North Waterboro; started as a shingle mill and progressed to being the largest lumber mill in Waterboro.

Our purpose is to furnish an opportunity for collecting, preserving, and publishing whatever may be related to the history of our town and to preserve such articles, relics, records, and properties of it’s early settlers.
